What is an API?

An API (Application Programming Interface) is a set of rules and protocols that allows different software applications to communicate with each other. It defines the methods and data structures that developers can use to interact with the functionality of a service or system.

In Taguchi, each organisation has access to the default Taguchi API endpoints. This allows seamless communication from external platforms and data sources.

What can you do with these connections?

Import and update your database.

Your marketing efforts will be pointless without subscribers to contact. Many clients connect to Taguchi with their existing CDP/data warehouse via API for seamless campaign execution.

Our API allows you to create subscriber profiles and update them in real time. You can add standard profile fields, custom fields, and list subscriptions to new and existing profiles. This ensures you have the most relevant data when you need it most.

Subscriber profiles can be created individually or in bulk, providing the flexibility to meet your needs.

Technical details for sending subscriber updates can be found here.

Sending activities

In Taguchi you can use API requests to trigger campaigns in real time. These can be used to power campaigns like order confirmations, welcome emails, abandoned cart, etc.

API triggered activities allow you to define the following:

  • Your intended audience
  • Your send time (immediate or in the future)
  • Which activity (email/SMS/push/WhatsApp) you intend to send
  • Content in the activity can be populated with request information (e.g. an abandoned cart product, delivery address, receipts etc)

Depending on your marketing goals, our expert client success team can walk you through whatever campaign you want to implement.

Technical details for sending activities can be found here.

Record webform submissions

API infrastructure powers the Taguchi webform builder, providing clients with the tools to grow their database and learn more about their subscribers.

Hereโ€™s what you can do with a Taguchi webform connected via API:

  • Ingest immediate submissions to the database
  • Perform list management
  • Trigger campaigns to those who submit (confirming their submission)
  • Record an acquisition source โ€“ measure the success of your growth pathways
  • Include reCAPTCHA

This functionality is entirely self-service and available to you today. For more guidance creating webforms in Taguchi, reach out to our support team.

Do you have a custom set up?

Donโ€™t sweat! The Taguchi API offers various wrappers for use in various environments and languages. We offer wrappers for JS, Python, PHP, .NET, C# and more.
